Any significance to the 1973 on his body?

As I was looking at this, I was thinking he perhaps worked himself to death. Anything to that?

The different tones in the metal making it appear to have just started to rust are so well done.

1973 - year of my birth. I had such mood. Badly and uncomfortably. As if inside gasoline has terminated. It became then better:)
