Daily Deviation

Given 2014-08-15
My lovely yelo buddie by Waldemar-Kazak is a curious and suggestible scene wherein a pair of retro brawlers finish up on a shoot-out. The peculiarities that exist are many; least of which is the largely monotone palette paralleled by the flat, vacant facial expressions bearing the characters. Both of which are also juxtaposed by use of a single primary colour and dramatic stances. Much is left to the viewer in assigning narrative – do enjoy!

Wow awesome artwork!! Any chance I could use this as a background visual for a music video on my music channel? With credit of course :) - www.youtube.com/wasabiiid

Very nice, although shooting someone with a handgun doesn't actually have enough force to propel someone like that. But in saying that it's dramatic and well done. The poses and actions taken makes the entire drawing.

Even when the artwork beeing pretty cool , the action pose breaks it in my opinion , so much forced and unrealistic

Great flow of action with the leap over the car. Love the shadowing and shading style. Are you using a bunch of different brushes for that effect?

Hmmm, she has no cover there, she's close range, took a poorly aimed shot, from the hip, with a pistol no less, while running, and jumping... in high heals.
Good god she could have mag-dumped an UZI and still miss in this case. However, let us not forget the shear hotness factor. Having a sexually attractive body will instantly make her win at everything, just like in the movies! :dummy:

:XD: Nice work, its pure movie doctrine in every single feature including the bullet knocking the guy flying like he got hit by a track. Another Mary Sue winning the day. Classic!

Stung by his cold gaze, she flung herself out of her car and let him have hot lead!
The bullet tore through the goon with the gun and sent him to hell.
His gun hit the filthy gray concrete with a clatter.

She left the area with no interest in her handiwork.

Looks great.

Quite the dynamic action piece. By chance, were you inspired by the Resident Evil film series or simply classic noir?

Cool but the angle of the gun should've been a li'l straight than that angle. I may be wrong....looks cool anyway.

Looks like she has the intention of breaking both of her legs, jumping off that car with high heels and those leg positions, just going for the knee grind on the pavement.

I don't waste time reading pages of comments, I'm here to enjoy the art.
The way you've drawn this makes it difficult for the viewer to understand if she slid across the car like her body position suggests, or if she ran from behind the car as the legs suggest, or if she ran and jumped from the top of the car (which is not possible in high heels). The angle of the gun is odd, but I love the posture of the perk getting shot, the feeling it conveys, his shock and collapse from the impact. That's the best part of this piece for me.

Yes, it is my inaccuracies. When I drew this sketch I didn't think of physics. It was important to me to create mood and dynamics. If I knew that sketch becomes DD, then I would correct it.

You can create the same mood and dynamics by paying attention to realism as well.
It becomes even deeper when you combine those things into it. People will be able to associate more.
But I see you have that as part of your style, so don't worry too much about it.

My first thought was "She's gonna break them heels."  Guess we could chalk that up as being a distracting aspect of this picture.

That's probably because you are spamming.  Posting the same emote on every single picture looking for attention, will often result in a different kind of attention than you were looking for. I have a tip, if you want to be noticed, start actually contributing art. You aren't the first person I've seen to try just posting the same thing on stuff, and nobody else doing that has lasted very long either.

I love the limited use of that one primary color, the yellow.  It's a really specific yellow, too, is the car supposed to be a Roadrunner?
